Resolution 1: Update the Antivirus/Malware Softwares’

If you have anti-spyware, anti-adware, or anti-malware installed in your system, then you need to update them. Once done, allow these exceptions:

  • qbw32.exe and qbupdate.exe processes.
  • Intuit.com, QuickBooks.com, and Payroll.com domains.

Resolution 2: Install a digital signature certificate in your system

  • Close the QuickBooks Desktop. 

( Note: Shutting the application down enables you to view the digital signature tab)

  • Search for the QBW32.exe in the C:\Program Files\Intuit\QuickBooks.
  • Right-click on the setup file.
  • Click on properties
  • Select the digital signature tab.
  • Choose Intuit, Inc. from the list.
  • Once selected, click on the details option.
  • On the window, select the View Certificate
  • On the Certificate section, click on Install Certificate.
  • Once finished, restart your PC and open the QuickBooks.
  • Now, download the update again.

Resolution 3: Set Internet Explorer as Default Browser

  • Go to the tools section and open the Internet options as shown below.

  •  Select the OK button.
  • Run the QuickBooks update.

Resolution 4: Run QB File Doctor from Tool Hub

  • Download QuickBooks Tool Hub from the official Intuit website.
  • Now, in the downloads folder, locate and run the QuickBooksToolHub.exe file.
  • Once downloaded, agree to the terms and conditions to open the application.
