Create and Restore Sage 50 Company File Backups

It is recommended to take a regular backup of your data so that you can restore it at any time in case of data loss.

To Create Sage 50 Backup:

Step 1

Open the company you wish to take the backup.

Select the tab File from the top bar menu and select the Backup option from the dropdown menu as shown in figure 1.1

Step 2

You will get a window as shown in figure 1.2 titled backup company.

You can set the Reminder with a fixed interval from the first checkbox as shown in figure 1.2

After that you can select both checkboxes for Local Backup Settings.

You can select the option Include company name in the backup file name to add your company name in the back up. And also, you can select the option Include archives in the backup to add archives in your back up.

Then click on the Back up button as shown in figure 1.2.

Step 3

Now you will get a window as shown in figure 1.3

Here you can save the file to the desired location. After selecting the destination click on Save.

Note: Unless you select a different location, the backup will save in the company data location. And the process will fail if there is not sufficient disc space.

Step 4

You will get a prompt window as shown in figure 1.4

It shows the size of the backup file and your system must have sufficient storage space to take the backup without any interruption. Click OK to proceed back up as shown in figure 1.4.

Step 5

You can see the status of the backup process as shown in the below figure.

Restore Sage 50 Backup:

Step 1

 Open Sage 50 company file as shown in figure 1.6.

Select File from the top menu and click on Restore from the dropdown menu. You can browse for the file to restore as shown in figure 1.6.

Step 2

You will get a window as shown in figure 1.7

Select from the location from where you have saved your backup file. After selecting the exact file click Open as shown in figure 1.7.

Step 3

Now you will get a window as shown in figure 1.8.

Here you will get two options on how to restore your company data. You can select the option Create a new company using the restored data. It will restore your company data to a new folder. After that click ion Next as shown in figure 1.8

Step 4

After selecting Next, you will get a window as shown in figure 1.9.

You can select all the options shown in figure 1.9 and then click on Next.

Step 5

You can verify the restore options from the window as shown in figure 1.10.

Click Finish to complete the restore process.
